Granny Shanye trying to get some Parker time from Pop

Parker and Pop hanging out on the couch

So Sleepy, poor guy did not feel good!
On Sunday evening, the 25th Michael and I were eating dinner and Parker was fussy, he'd had his dinner and he usually gets this way because he doesn't want to be on the floor, he wants to be held. Of course I told him "I know buddy, we're almost done eating" well when I finished eating and went over to get him he was burning up, I ran him into the bedroom, checked his temperature (104.7 in the bottom) and as calmly as I could, got him undressed and into the tub. We got his fever down a little but not much and it was like this all night, in and out of the tub and alternating Motrin and Tylenol. I wanted to take him to he hospital but Michael and I knew what was wrong, Parker was holding the back of his head and pulling at his ears so we got the fever down and let him sleep in his diaper. On Monday morning I took him to the doctor's office and sure enough he had a double ear infection, she gave me a prescription and got me an appointment with an ENT. This was the same day that we had our visit and so it was eventually cut short by our 1:00 appointment with the ENT. So the end result is that Parker is having tubes put in his ears on May 11th. I just got a call from the surgery center to answer some questions, the lady said we'll probably be going in around 6:30 that morning. The only good thing about that is the possibility that I won't have a hungry cranky baby to deal with because he'll hopefully go back to sleep in the car. I'll just have to make sue and have something for when he wakes up :)

He has two teeth!
Last Friday it was just a normal day at work and I was bringing my boss some mail when she asked me if I had looked at the job postings lately. I said no of course because I am content in my job but I went and looked anyway because I knew she was asking me to look without asking ha-ha. So
on the list were two jobs, the first was a teller position in Lufkin, obviously this is not what she meant because this would be a step down from my current job so I look at the second posting. This one is for the E-banking supervisor, I was not expecting this, I have never been in a position that required me to be in charge of anyone else! So I walked back into her office and immediately say "Do you think I should?" she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders. She asked if I was interested and I asked her what I would be doing. She said I would learn the positions in that department and supervise. I told her I would think about it. Well I called Michael and he reassured me that I was a smart girl and I could do this, GO APPLY he said...so I did! After a while I got an email from my supervisor (under the boss) she asked the same thing my boss did! When I told her I applied she gave me a high five ha-ha and I told her I was nervous about it because the only person I have ever been in charge of was Parker, and he doesn't talk back! Anyway I got a phone call from my supervisor letting me know that they were going to be doing interviews tomorrow and she was making sure I was applying because I wanted to and not because they asked me about it...I said no I am serious, just nervous. I believe I'll have an interview tomorrow!
I guess I have rambled enough! I will post more next week as it is my first Mother's Day this Sunday! I am going to Houston to spend Saturday with my mom, aunts and granny and we plan on eating lunch and going to the zoo.
Have a great rest of the week and Happy Momma's Day to all of you other hardworking and amazing moms!
We will be praying for sweet, baby Parker!!
