I am considering making the switch to Word Press but I haven’t fully committed. I am afraid! I like the look of Word Press and have heard great things about it but I guess it's the unknown keeping me from going forward. I also want my own domain so that when you come to my fabulous blog it will say www.oneblessedmomma.com. Wouldn’t that be fancy? I think so. Only problem is that I’m a cheapo and am worried I’ll have buyer’s remorse for spending money every mo/yr for my own domain name. Anyone have any thoughts?
I plan to keep on blogging no matter what because it's an outlet for me and also a way to show Parker his life in another way. I like to think that more people will read and will be interested in my life. Boy that sounds conceded and selfish, I’m so not! Really though, I’d love to know that I have helped or inspired other women with my words, even if I do have 50 grammatical errors and a ton of run on sentences. I’ve never claimed to be some fancy pants writer with perfect sentence structure, I just love to write!
There are a TON of blogs out there and not just momma blogs either. I'm glad I stumbled upon TMB (GO VOTE FOR ME) because I have been inspired by some awesome women! Blair, Katie and Whitney are a few of my faves. You totally need to clicky on each of their names to check them out. I feel like a total stalker because I check their blogs everyday…sometimes more than once and I’m sure they know about it. I even go back and read their archives ::Gasp:: I have no shame, they are awesome and I always get something from their posts whether it be a laugh or a fit of jealousy over how creative they are. Not to mention that they all have ADORABLE babes, I could gush over their babies as much as I gush over my own! So stinkin cute.
Anywho, I’m getting off track. I have blogged for a long time here and there, when I started though it was called a journal. My first blog was on LiveJournal.com and it was all about boys and school DRAMA! I gushed about my boyfriend and how in love I was, and then I cried about how my heart was broken when we broke up. After a long hiatus I started a new blog on Xanga. I was a senior and therefore I wrote a lot about school, graduation and college. Add a little boy drama to the mix and you have my senior year on the interwebs. I actually met my husband on that blog; it all started with one little comment. I kept that site for a while until I got bored with it and moved on to Myspace and Facebook, but I always come back to blogging.
I started this blog thinking that I’d just write my day to day happenings not thinking that it would turn in to anything, but now as I look back I can see my life as a newlywed and then most of my pregnancy and now Parker’s life and my life as a momma. I wish I would have been better about writing everything that was happening while I was pregnant so that I could go back and say “Oh God I remember that!” I was a lazy blogger but I’m making up for it now. I want to make sure that I write everything down, not just the important stuff. That way when Parker is older and I miss the old days, I can look back and remember them.
A lady I work with just informed me that they miss Parker. She said I need to bring him up here so they can see him again! I love that. I think it is so sweet that my co-workers want to see my baby. I told them that on his birthday, after his haircut, I would do my best to bring him up here so that they can see him and his new do.
In 15 days my baby will be a toddler…I will no longer be a “new” momma. I’m going to be a momma to a walking talking little boy. I’m not ready, it seems like yesterday I was swaddling him and encouraging him to lift his head up. Now he doesn’t want any covers and he whips his head around at everything because he must know what is going on around him at all times. I always get so excited when he does something new, and when he says something new. I swear this morning after he sneezed he said Bless You after I said it. I actually stopped what I was doing and looked at him and then like a dork said “bless you Parker, can you say bless you?” I fully expected him to say it again. He didn’t, but I was still amazed, I wish I had gotten it on video. My son is amazing; he’s just growing up to fast.
Alright friends, I have had a longer break than I should have so I better get back to work. I hope that everyone has a great Thursday!
