Another $25 Down the Toilet

It's Wednesday night, Michael is asleep, Parker is asleep and the dogs are barking in the backyard which is driving me crazy. Why must they bark at night?! I mean seriously, there is nothing going on and no reason for them to be constantly barking! They've been known to wake Parker up because of it...I can't wait to have money and buy double pane windows for the bedrooms.

So anyway, enough about the loud annoying dogs...My day was eventful, not in a good way either. It seems like I am always blogging about the same thing lately, Parker is sick. I am tired of saying that. Does it ever stop? Will we get to go longer than a few weeks, a month at most without saying that Parker is sick. I mean for real y'all! I know we're not the only parents who go through this but it feels like we're at the doctor's office at least once a month. He catches this or that from daycare and brings it home and then it cycles through me and Michael and usually back to Parker.

Parker is awake and crying. I'll be right back. Well after a bottle and a lot of rocking and rubbing on his back he is still awake and crying. Tonight is going to be a cry it out night I guess...

Back to what I was saying, Parker got tubes and after having them for about 4 months now he got an ear infection last week. I can't complain about the tubes because they have been wonderful and he's been ear infection free since May, but I hate that my baby is in pain. Since the beginning of the year he has been to the doctor for RSV, Bronchiolitis, over 5 ear infections (Jan-May) fever caused by a virus multiple times, walking pneumonia, stomach viruses...and now that cold weather is around the corner I know we'll be dealing with more. I'm planning on us all getting the flu vaccine with the H1N1 vaccine so we can hopefully be flu free this season. No mother wants to see her child in pain or feeling bad, we want them to be happy and healthy!

I was told today that his ear looked better but not completely healed. I brought him in because of fever, he has been on an antibiotic for almost 10 days and thought it was unusual that he would have fever while on it. Of course it is a virus. I was told to give him the antibiotic until it's gone and we'll go back next week for another check up and hopefully his 1 year shots.

Sorry for this whiny post, I just want my baby to feel better.

In other news, I've been thinking about Halloween and what Parker might be this year! Last year he was only a month and a few weeks old and he was the most adorable little monkey ever. This year we were thinking Batman but that idea may be wishful thinking. For those of you who don't know, Parker doesn't like things on his head. I can get a beanie hat on him or at least I could last year, but anything else gets ripped off and thrown down. This Batman costume requires a mask...I doubt he'll leave it on. My only super hero option is Super Man because he doesn't wear a mask. If I go in another direction my options are limited to an animal of some kind, a cowboy (minus the hat) or some kind of food.

OMG I just had the best idea ever...I can get some glittery powder, gel for his hair and a super cute outfit and he can be Baby Edward Cullen! How cute would that be? No hat necessary! Ok so yeah I bet Michael wouldn't let me get away with that one but it was worth a shot. We could always do Dracula ha!

OK bloggy friends, enough is enough. I am off to bed and I hope to be at work tomorrow because that will mean my kiddo is fever free!

  1. I remember a few years ago Michael poking fun at my "sickly kid", so I'm just sayin ... karma. Kidding of course. It gets better; hang in there and be happy and thankful that you have a lot of loving/supporting family around to help you out.
