Time Travel and Changes

Did I wake up in 1999? Nope, my husband is in the bathroom taking a shower, my baby is asleep in his crib and I am no longer the skinny little size zero I once was. So why is it that everyday when I look in the mirror I see the face of my 13 year old self? I. feel. so. gross. I guess my hormones are still trying to get back to normal and I am sure the 110 degree weather isn’t helping out much but c’mon! I thought I was done with oily skin and pimples for awhile…and I figure since I have the skin of a 13 year old, I should be able to whine like a 13 year old. It’s so not faaair!! Ok I’m done. Anyone know of a good soap or something that could clear up my normally somewhat oily but not too oily and sometimes dry right after my shower skin?

OK so I will wait but I am going to be changing the blog up a bit. I love reading other blogs and so I want others to love reading my blog as well! I am really wanting to do some kind of giveaway…I am thinking that I might give some lucky reader (like I have any) a free Discovery Toy. Depending on comments of course…I should probably wait until I have more readers to do something like this, it won’t be very hard to pick a winner if I only get one comment huh. So I want to do reviews and giveaways at some point and I had been thinking that I would like to do some kind of weekly post. After reading a few other blogs I think I will be doing a Wordless Wednesday, because I love looking at Lillie’s blog and seeing her pictures for that day and because I want to do some new reader content! Second I am going to have McFatty Monday. What is McFatty Monday you ask? McFatty Monday is a post on Mondays to inform everyone of my weight loss progress or lack there of. I was inspired by Blair from Heir to Blair who has lost over 25lbs since January. I want to lose 30lbs…of course I have posted this before and I have said time and time again that I will not procrastinate and wouldn’t you know it, life got in my face and distracted me! My thoughts are that if I were to do a post every Monday with progress or just to post about my struggles with it, I will have to try and my readers will expect me to be doing something…even if it is just 20 minutes around the block or swimming laps on the weekends. I will need support as I am not very good with self motivation unless you count the motivation to go grab cookies from the pantry. I would love any tips on foods or exercises that may have helped you or even just words of encouragement. I am hoping to get started with my McFatty Monday posts next week! I have also been contemplating having a recipe page on my blog. I am a recipe stealer and I would love to share my favorites with others…ahem, BeBe’s macaroni and cheese…and GiGi’s taco soup. Can you say YUMO! So those are my ideas!

I was reading Cleared For Takeoff, another great blog, yesterday and she had a post called Letters to Katie. Basically, the post was a letter or letters to her younger self! She got the idea from another blog and they did a “Blog Hop” where everyone wrote this same type of post and shared it so you could “Hop” to other blogs and read their letters. It was really neat, I wouldn’t have gotten any work done had I hopped over to the other blogs and read their letters. Anyway I have been thinking about writing my own, it really got me thinking about all of the things I would tell my younger self. I hope to have this posted soon so stay tuned!

I’m not sure if I have posted this little tid bit or not but my little kiddo has 5 teeth! Can you believe it? I keep saying I am going to stop nursing so I don’t get bit but I have yet to stop…I don’t think it will take much convincing when he bites down with 5 little chompers. The down side to his adorable new teeth is that he has had pain, fever and a cough from the drainage that teething causes. He has been super fussy lately and I know he hasn’t been sleeping well, so last night he was drugged…sounds bad huh. I gave him Tylenol for the fever and pain, teething tablets also for the pain and Benadryl to help with the drainage and coughing. Let me just say that I do not give my baby Benadryl for any reason but to help his cough and stuff but OMG! He slept ALL NIGHT LONG and I mean from 9pm to 7:15am when I had to wake him up! It was amaaaaazing…I slept so good! I hope he starts feeling better soon though because I really don’t like it when he doesn’t feel well.

So I am going to sound like a total dork right now but for those of you who don’t know, I am SO excited about Eclipse!!! I am going with a group of girlfriends to watch it tomorrow night and I can’t wait! My mother in law asked me if I wanted to go get a t-shirt from Hot-Topic to wear to the movie lol I said no but secretly I totally do! Did you know there is an actual Twilight Moms fan club…it is for us dirty mommas who think Edward and Jacob are super fine. I am not a member of said club but don’t think it hasn’t crossed my mind. Michael is also a Twilight fan but will not be going with the ladies to watch Eclipse…sorry honey; I really wanted you to go. He will be going on Friday at a much less crowded time I’m sure. So anyway I will be sure and have a little something in my next post about how awesome the movie was and how you should totally go and see it.

Well I am at work and I am typing this in an email to myself…so I guess I should go get my lunch and then get started on my “week long” project. I’ll have to zone out a lot in order to drag it out all week. Thanks for stopping by!
