Weekend Wrap Up

Talk about a full weekend! When I plan, I plan a lot ha-ha. My weekend started on Friday, my Granny Shayne came to visit me and Parker for the day. She took us grocery shopping and we spent a lot of time catching up at the house. It was great to see her, we don’t see her often so I love the days when she can travel south to visit.
Friday night I had a birthday party for Michael, all of our friends came out to the house to celebrate. My best friend Jennifer, my aunt and cousin also came to town to walk with us (more on that in a sec.). Other than having my phone taken off of the counter by little wandering hands and dropped on the floor, cracking the screen so that it wasn’t sensing my touch, it was a good night! My butterscotch blondies were a hit (no I didn’t have one) as was the rest of the food! I love playing hostess.

Saturday morning we got up nice and early and headed to Nacogdoches for the March for Babies. First of all, let me say how proud I am of my team! We raised $1,042.00 for the March of Dimes and I swallowed my fear and told everyone why my team was walking. I tried very hard not to cry and when I was done the announcer read the back of our shirts “There is no footprint too small that it cannot leave its imprint on the world.” The walk itself was wonderful, there was just enough breeze that we didn’t burn up and rather than the 5 miles we thought we were walking, we only walked 2! Of course we didn’t mention that change to our husbands ha-ha (sorry honey!) I think I ought to get extra points for pushing a stroller though! I’m so happy with our result and I can’t wait for next year, hopefully we can get more team members and walkers including Ella’s Mommy and her other family members. Thank you to everyone who donated, bought a shirt, walked, and thought about Ella on Saturday, it means the world to us that you honored Ella with us.

(pictures to come...can't figure out how to add them from my phone)

Sunday morning we all got up and got ready for church! I, along with 17 others, was baptized at the end of our service. I’m so happy I found a church where my family and I feel welcome and comfortable!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

PS. McFatty Monday is coming up next J
